Can a device rate for 3 amp appropriate 3.5amp?

I own just purchased a TFT monitor short a power cord. It is rated for 12V and 3 AMP. I hold a wall-to car adapter that outputs 12V and 3.5 amp. I plan to install a cable between that and the monitor. Will the difference disfavour the monitor?

Answer:

Joe U has the right theory - a device will draw the amount of current it needs, noi more.

Just be sure that the 12v is CLEAN - little or no ripple.
as my mother would influence.

DON’T TRY IT!!
That should be fine. The monitor will draw only the amount of current that it requests from a constant voltage source. Be careful more or less the polarity as backwards hookup can severly damage the monitor and see to be sure of correct voltage.
The device will only consume 3A no issue how many Amps are available. Just don't forget and try hooking up TWO monitors because later the devices will be trying to draw the maximum amperage (up to 6AMPS) and that will be a firehazard.
No as long as the supply (adapter) is higher than the nouns

In your case you are ok
I agree next to Runescape, Do not Try it. Not unless you want toasted TFT. It is one thing to fry a cheap Memory SIMM beside a Voltage change, but an amperage move like that? Wow...
My dad installed an adapter that be rated for complex than the device he was trying to run (battery recharger) it be only $20 so when it caught fire he lately said oops and laughed. Can you simply go oops and guffaw of your monitor is toasted? If so then try it basis I think you are in fact safe up to almost 5 amps - if not turn to radioshack and spend $20 on an adapter that can be adjusted for voltage and amperage
