Buying an LCD monitor... Specs to look for?

I'm planning on purchasing a 22 inch LCD monitor and is curious what specs I should look for. FYI, I would be using this primarily for gaming and movies. My video card is not top of the flash (256mb ATI Radeon x1300 pro) so there may be limitations...

Answer:

cool... these are the specs you should look for to achieve a kick a*s gaming LCD:

Resolution: Your gfx card can toy with 2560x1600 so there will be no limitations here...

Recomenndation: on a wide-screen monitor I would look for 1680x1050 AKA WSXGA+ this is an amazing resolution and most games today enjoy that as there top resolution setting

Response Time: It means primarily how fast the subsequent frame gets put up on the blind

Recomenndation: I would look for a monitor with <20ms... however at hand is no real inevitability for something like 2ms... monitors near 2ms are usually WAY overpriced

Interface: This is the cable that is used to connect the monitor to the gfx card

Recomenndation: You gfx card have a D-SUB and a DVI connector... I would definitely recomennd DVI

Those are the significant things

A recomenndation on a specific monitor:

I have a Dell 2005FPW

Specs:

Resolution: 1680x1050

Reponse Time: 16ms

Interfaces: DVI, D-SUB, Composite, S-Video

This is an amazing monitor

I play CounterStrike Source, Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, Half Life 2, Battlefield 2, and Battlefield 2142 on it adjectives the time and it rox!

I hope this has help you,
