Can an iMac be used simply as a monitor?

Is possible to use an iMac as freshly a monitor so that I can use it with my PC, or is it single meant to work as a Mac?

if within is a post that has a dvi or vga output you could essentially hook it up to another computer, you might hold to seperate the power supply from the motherboard nad the monitor, i assume the button turns on both.
